Which BLASTs should I use on my cabinets?                                                 Inspiring Photos

Do you have your own design style?

Would you know it if you did?

Does it matter if you have a style?

As artists, designers try to appeal to the "senses or emotions" (Wikipedia) of themselves and others.

If you are designing your own look for your cabinets, you too, should appeal to your senses and emotions.  Put another way, if it looks and feels right to you, then you've touched on something inside of you so just go with it.

Be confident in your gut.

When you feel right about something in your gut but just can't put it into words, it's often the case that your brain is simply working faster than your mouth.  After some time has passed we are often able to put into words, just what our speedy brain came up with first.

Experiment.

Some people are really good at visualizing things and some not so much.  Either way, it's often good to experiment with different ideas.  With cabinets, you can replicate the general color scheme you're wanting to use by utilizing simple things like construction paper, by printing something on your computer's printer, or by having us send you some samples.

Be creative.  Be unique.

One of the most satisfying things we as humans can do is to create something from nothing.  By being brave enough to have your own creative ideas and then actually putting them "out there" for other people to see is not for the feint of heart, but it can be very rewarding to us.

Enjoy the process and have fun.

As you probably already know, it's not very often that you breeze in and design an area from start to finish and then are "done" with it.  Usually it's a process that begins with one item, then when that item is good, then we naturally turn our attention to the next thing that needs "fixing."  Keeping an eye on the end result is great, but enjoy the journey, too.  Even Professionals use an iterative process when designing a room or other area, often starting with a single item or motif that serves as a springboard to use throughout the project.
